Hillsboro/Whitney Aglow Attends International Conference in Richmond
HILLSBORO, TX Oct 8th, 2017- The Aglow International Hillsboro/Whitney Community Lighthouse attended the Aglow International Conference in Richmond, VA on September 28th-October 1st, 2017.

This year marked the 50th Anniversary of Aglow, which began in 1967 by four women that had a desire to pray for their community.
This year local AGLOW President, Carolyn Gray, VP of Administration, Shirley McGinty, VP of Ministry Development, Donna Rodgers and VP of Public Relations, Bess Loveless along with Aglow Care and Share Facilitator Cindy Kent and Aglow Advisors Pat Patton, Terry and Sue O’Neal attended the conference.

This year’s theme was “Boundless in Favor, in Power, in Majesty”. Around the world, Aglow conferences have become times of visitations from the Lord, individually and corporately. It is during these times that Aglow women and men catch vision from leaders, and become equipped to return as servant leaders in their communities.

Through the years, national conferences have been held in more than 50 nations. Recently, in response to a growing desire among members to widen their sphere beyond national borders, Aglow has encompassed a wider sphere. Aglow’s regional conferences have drawn believers from several nations, to further strengthen the bonds among Christ-followers.

For more than two decades, worldwide conferences (held in the U.S. on odd-numbered years), bring thousands of Aglow members together. One highlight of the gathering is the opening session’s flag parade where leaders from more than 100 nations joyously celebrate their faith, and life in the Spirit.

Guest speakers were President/CEO of Aglow International, Jane Hansen-Hoyt, Barbara Yoder, Chuck Pierce, Dutch Sheets and Graham Cooke. Over 5000 attendees came from around the world to join in one accord and celebrate the Aglow jubilee.

Aglow International is in 170 countries and 85% of all nations. It is a Kingdom Movement committed to seeing God’s will done on earth as it is in Heaven. We do this through:
Mobilizing millions into a company of warriors, champions, and global leaders of significance.

MOVIE PASTOR SPEAKS IN HILLSBORO

APPALACHIAN DAWN MOVIE TRANSFORMS CITIES

HILLSBORO, TX (OCT 11TH, 2016)-  Hillsboro/Whitney Aglow Community Lighthouse hosted Doug and Linda Abner at their weekly gathering at the home of local President, Carolyn Gray.  In attendance were local business owners, pastors, community leaders and community members all interested in the transformation of cities through a move of God.

The movie, Appalachian Dawn, is nestled in the mountains of Central Appalachia, Clay County has long been at the nexus of history. Daniel Boone left plenty of footprints here, but he was hardly alone. For over 200 years, the people who followed him into this secluded corner of America generated enough heroism and infamy to salt the headlines of virtually every major newspaper in the land.

Sadly, much of the news was dark - vicious feuds, crushing poverty, pervasive corruption, and epic drug abuse. By the early 2000s, the situation was so bleak that any family that could was fleeing to greener pastures. Those who stayed behind fought a running battle with hopelessness as illicit drugs threatened to consume an entire generation.

And then it happened. As a desperate band of believers cried, “Enough!” the Presence of God descended on the town of Manchester and transformed it into the City of Hope.

Doug Abner is one of the featured pastors of the movie and now tours America with his wife Linda speaking about the move of God that came to Manchester and Clay County. “At our darkest hour there was one young person dying weekly of a drug overdose in our county” said Abner.

Through a coming together of a Baptist Pastor and a Pentecostal Pastor a prayer meeting was started and gathered every Saturday to seek God to help their communities.  Soon there were 63 different pastors joined as one body to transform their county for the current residents and the generations to come.

Abner left the group with these thoughts, pray together with as many people from all denominations as often as possible, remember there is only one church that gathers in many places, always speak good about your city and read and study the book of Nehemiah.
